Affinage Assistant

Job purpose: 

To assist with the hand washing and turning of our range of around 36 award winning artisan cheeses as they mature.  Every cheese needs to be hand turned and washed regularly to ensure that they ripen evenly and correctly.  With so many hard and soft cheeses in our range, we are unique in the industry. 

The successful person will be someone that’s excited by the mission of producing and delivering outstanding cheese with beautiful presentation. A positive individual who is outgoing and personable who will be able to work hard on their own initiative and work well in a team. 

Affinage (a term for the washing and turning of cheeses) is a physically demanding job in a cold working environment but it is equally rewarding and exciting too. 

Job role:

The job entails working with an experienced team taking care of our cheeses within an agreed process and following hygiene guidelines as well as assisting with the cleaning of equipment, affinage area and chillers. 

A degree of flexibility is required as you will be needed to help out in other departments when necessary. 

We are a happy hard-working team that shares the workload and roles.

This is a full-time position - 5 days a week - Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week

£12.21 p/h

28 days annual holiday, including Bank Holidays

 

Dispatch Assistant

Job purpose:

To assist with the dispatch of all orders containing around 36 award winning artisan cheeses.

The successful person will be someone that’s excited by the mission of producing and delivering outstanding cheese with beautiful presentation. A positive individual who is outgoing and personable who will be able to work hard on their own initiative and work well in a team.

Dispatch is a physically demanding job in a cold working environment but is equally rewarding and exciting too.

 

Job role:

The job entails working with an experienced team preparing customer orders within an agreed process and specification including picking, cutting and wrapping cheese, packing them into the appropriate boxes and labelling, ready for the agreed collection time; receiving goods inwards; following hygiene guidelines as well as assisting with the cleaning of equipment, dispatch area and chillers.

A degree of flexibility is required as you will be needed to help out in other departments when necessary.

This is a part-time position - 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Approximately 30 hours per week and potentially would suit a parent with children at school.

£12.21 p/h

Permanent position

28 days annual holiday, including Bank Holidays

 

Assistant Cheesemaker

Job purpose

To assist with the making of around 36 award winning artisan cheeses.

Cheesemaking is a physically demanding job but is equally rewarding and exciting too. It is a role that often suits chefs looking to retrain.

The successful person will be someone that’s excited by the mission of producing and delivering outstanding cheese with beautiful presentation. A positive individual who is outgoing and personable who will be able to work hard on their own initiative and work well in a team.

Job role

The job entails working with an experienced team making around 36 cheeses. From pouring curd into moulds, washing equipment and keeping the cheese room clean to turning and brining the cheeses. We are a happy hard-working team that shares the workload and roles. The opportunity to learn the process and become a cheesemaker in the long term will always be available, and we have a structured training programme that allows you to progress at your own speed.

This is a full-time position - 5 days a week – including weekends on a rota basis.

Approximately 40 hours per week.

£12.21 p/h, but a higher rate may be agreed for a candidate with exceptional skills for this role.

28 days annual holiday, including Bank Holidays
